The 2010 Census revealed that racial and ethnic minorities now make up about half of the under-5 age group in the U.S., which means that growth and vitality of the labor force and economy will increasingly be influenced by a region’s racial and ethnic composition. A diverse workforce can drive economic growth by capturing a greater share of the consumer market, fostering a more creative and innovative climate, and establishing a competitive community in a globalized world.
