Come join us at the BioNetWork Power Hour for a free networking event for biotechnology professionals of all levels to come relax, meet others in their profession in a casual atmosphere, and have an opportunity to exchange great ideas. BioNetWork Power Hour sponsorships and donations directly support Easter Seals of Wisconsin along with other charitable organizations and future scholarships.

Who Should Attend: All employees that work for a Biotech, Life Science, Medical Device, and all others that work in the biotechnology related supply/service industry. *This also includes all other industries that want to help support Easter Seals of Wisconsin.

What to Expect: Free food which includes hamburgers and brats; drinks which includes beer provided by MobCraft Beer; guest griller will be Don Zukowski and ESPN will be on site broadcasting live. There will also be games, prizes, and music along with raffle items to support Easter Seals of Wisconsin from the UW Sports department, Hotel packages, and other items.

Downtown Organizations Invited to Apply for Connect Communities Program

Wisconsin downtown and urban commercial districts are invited to apply for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s Connect Communities program, an initiative that works with those organizations to advance revitalization efforts.

Connect Communities offers technical assistance resources, creates networking opportunities and connects local leaders to financial/technical assistance programs. The program is offered to communities that have an interest in revitalizing their downtowns/urban commercial districts and has 34 members throughout the state.

Those who are part of the program say is has provided them with valuable resources that have made a difference in revitalizing their downtowns.

WEDC provides participating communities a range of services and resources, including a network group to receive new ideas from others participating in Connect Communities; participation in a Main Street director workshop and roundtable discussions; an on-site visit from a WEDC community account manager to assist in identifying needs and offering assistance; and access to additional training sessions and materials.

Small Business Scholarship Program for BIO 2015 is Now Open

The BIO 2015 Business Scholarship Program enables Wisconsin bioscience companies (health, agriculture, energy, medical device, etc.) to participate fully in the BIO 2015 International Convention to be held June 15-18 in Philadelphia, PA. This scholarship grants access to BIO’s One-on-One Business Partnering (valued at $2599).

Awards will be based on articulated need and are subject to specific criteria as described in the application. BIOforward will select the scholarship recipients.

  • Applications are due to BioForward by March 20th, 2015.
  • Scholarships will be announced by March 30th, 2015.
  • Early registration rates for BIO 2015 end on April 23rd, 2015.
