In 2014 the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce (GMCC) will redefine what a business expo delivers to attendees and exhibitors with neXXpo: Business in Fast Forward on Tuesday, April 8th at Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall. Attendees will see and experience what’s next in business products and services at various exhibition booths focused in five zones: Manufacturing, Startup, Sustainability, Talent, and Technology.

The event schedule offers various seminar sessions, luncheon with keynote speaker, the exhibition zones, an exciting business pitch contest – PRESSURE CHAMBER – and finishes up with a two hour networking program, which will feature four hospitality rooms.

IEDC: Basic Economic Development Courses (BEDC)

The Wisconsin Economic Development Course is designed to provide an understanding of the basic concepts, theories, methods and practice will be taught by professionals who have earned the CEcD designation and members of the University of Wisconsin Extension Center for Community and Economic Development.

Features of this year’s course include:

  • Small class size to accommodate interactive and group learning
  • Hands on tours
  • Opportunities to learn from experienced economic developers from around the state and country

This course is a required course towards becoming a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) with the International Economic Development Cuoncil.

There are ten $150 scholarships available. To apply for the 2013 scholarship, please download the 2013 application and submit your application by 5:00pm on Monday, July 15.
